RAMS Generator

Construction RAMS Generator

Create a site-specific draft Risk Assessment and a separate Method Statement for construction work. Add multiple activities, assess initial and residual risk, and export professional reports.

Important: This tool supports planning; it does not replace competent judgement, statutory assessments, permits, surveys or site verification. A competent person must review, approve, brief and update every document before work starts.

Site factors that may increase risk

2A. Risk Assessment

Risk score 1–10 is derived from Likelihood (1–5) × Severity (1–5), scaled to 10. 1–2 Low (green), 3–4 Moderate (yellow), 5–7 High (orange), 8–10 Very High (red).

Risk-control principles

Apply controls in order: eliminate the hazard where reasonably practicable; substitute a safer method or material; use engineering and collective protection; introduce safe systems, permits, supervision and training; then use suitable PPE as the final layer. Reassess the residual risk and stop work if controls are absent or conditions change.

Frequently asked questions

Is a generated RAMS automatically compliant?

No. It is a structured draft and must be made site-specific, checked against current law and guidance, and approved by a competent dutyholder.

When must it be reviewed?

Before work, after material changes, new information, an incident or near miss, control failure, or when the planned review date is reached.

Are separate COSHH, lifting or temporary works documents still needed?

Yes, whenever applicable. This generator does not replace specialist assessments, designs, permits, inspection records or emergency rescue plans.
