Land Survey

I’m a site engineer, and one of my main jobs is doing a ‘Land Survey’. This isn’t just drawing the edges of a piece of land. I look closely at the land to find where its boundaries are, its highs and lows, and other special features like hills or ponds. I write down everything I see. If there’s a big pile of dirt on the site, I also measure how much is there. This helps us plan what to do with that dirt, like whether to move it, use it, or keep it there. Basically, the Land Survey helps us know the land well so we can build things the right way.
