Distance & Bearing Calculator — Site-Survey Tools
Calculate distance and bearing between two points
How to Use This Tool
Purpose: Calculate the distance and whole circle bearing (azimuth) between two survey points using their Easting and Northing coordinates.
How it works:
- Enter the point names and coordinates for both points
- Click "Calculate" to compute distance and bearing
- View results in both decimal degrees and DMS format
- Copy results to clipboard or export to CSV
Note: The bearing is calculated as a whole circle bearing (0° to 360°) measured clockwise from North. Distance is calculated using the Pythagorean theorem.
Example Calculation:
| Point | Easting | Northing |
|---|---|---|
| c21 | 1017.607 | 1545.196 |
| c20 | 1019.802 | 1541.877 |
Results: Distance: 3.979 m | Bearing: 146.5216° | DMS: 146° 31′ 18″
